Fab For A Function: Part 1

Okay, so I know you said we could use a video for this part of the project, but I do not have access to the thing that I need to record right now. So for my functional object, I’m going to make a new shift knob for my car. The one that is in it right now is not only broken, but it is also the farthest from ergonomic. I have horrible calluses on my hand due to the horrible design; I’ve been dealing with the shift knob for nearly 4 years. The reason I do not have access to film the problem right now is because my car has been in the shop getting a new transmission installed.

the shift knob i have on the car now is similar to this one and it is very uncomfortable for daily driving as well as racing (on the track of course).
I plan on making something this shape with an adjustable riser to be able to position the shifter wherever i please.
something similar to this as a final product is going to be my end goal, but i plan to have more adjustment as far as angle of the shifter goes. I want to be able to position the shifter handle in the perfect position, as well as having enough leverage to be able to shift accurately.
